Paquito D'Rivera:
Brazilian Dreams
Produced by Marty; Featuring Marty on guitarBrazilian Dreams
Paquito D’Rivera’s love affair with vocal quartets and Brazilian music began in the 1960s, coinciding with the bossa nova movement and the emergence of Antonio Carlos Jobim as the "Duke Ellington" of Brazil. Brazilian Dreams realizes Paquito’s musical vision, combining his love for American vocal quartet music with the melodies and harmonies of Brazilian Jazz. The selections include Jobim classics, as well as Luiz Bonfa and Joao Donato compositions in addition to original songs by Paquito D’Rivera and Claudio Roditi.
2003 Latin GRAMMY Award winner for Best Latin Jazz Album
